Estimating is where you prepare the bid. You import the tender budget, build your real cost line item by line item and decide the margin you bid with, or how much of a discount you can take.
Budget editor
An editor that behaves like your spreadsheet.
You type in the cell, drag, copy and paste. Quantities, unit prices and totals recalculate on their own, line item by line item and chapter by chapter. You don’t change the way you price: you just stop redoing the totals by hand every time you move a price.
AI import
It comes in however it arrives. It goes out however they ask.
You give Kimi the tender budget in BC3, Excel or PDF, whatever its format, and Marta structures it into chapters, line items and quantities. Nothing goes in until you confirm it. When it’s time to submit, you export to Excel, PDF or BC3.
If you work with Presto, export to BC3 from Presto and it comes in just the same.
Cost breakdowns
Automatic cost breakdowns, and then your own.
Certly breaks every line item down into materials, labour and plant, based on your previous estimates. You adjust it with the prices you really pay, and whatever you correct stays in your database. The next estimate already starts with your numbers, not with a generic price list.
Quotes and comparisons
Group, request quotes and compare before you bid.
You group line items and sub-items by trade or by supplier and request quotes for that whole package, not item by item: one document goes out per supplier, with the quantities and the deadline. With their replies you build the comparison and see what the project will really cost you before deciding the discount you bid with.
It’s the same comparison engine you later use on site to award. What you compared in the estimate gets reused.
And if you win, you move the estimate into execution. The budget you bid is the budget you build, with its line items, its prices and its cost breakdowns. Without retyping a thing.
